About

Hi! We are Blue Balloon Theatre. A Manchester based, non-profit theatre company acting as a platform for actors and creatives to develop and showcase their own, original work.

Founded by Rebecca Phythian and co-run with best friend, Jas Nisic, Louise Croft and Ryan Morrison, our aim and ethos is to make it happen!

We establish a safe and supportive environment for our creatives to develop their work and perform in. A lot of our performers have never performed their writing live before and so it's truly important to us to embrace individuality and instill confidence into our creative community.

Working predominantly in the heart of Manchester City Centre, we produce live events such as Spoken Word & Poetry Open Mics and Freedom of Expression: an evening of new writing, whether that's music, poetry, comedy or drama. We coordinate and facilitate creative workshops for actors, writers and poets and in future we hope to delve further into productions as our first live theatre show, Pill, was a complete success!

We are so passionate about making theatre and the arts accessible, and due to COVID-19, we've adapted the way in which we share our content and creatives' work by utilising our social media and YouTube channel to promote our work.
